Start with the outcome
Describe what you want the system to do or the problem you need resolved. For repairs, explain when the fault started, whether it is intermittent and any changes that happened before it appeared.
Share the useful details
Include your area, property type and equipment make or model where available. Clear photos and rough measurements can make the initial conversation more productive. Never put yourself at risk to reach equipment or open electrical enclosures.
Explain site access
Mention estate registration, building-management approval and the person who can provide access. For businesses, identify any equipment or work areas that should not be interrupted.
Compare the scope
Look at the equipment, labour, exclusions and handover included in each proposal. Ask what may need further assessment and how changes to the scope will be agreed.
